Terra Incognita

Wifred Lim's Red Note Part II

Terra Incognita is conceived through the artistic crossroads of the two winners of the Kwek Leng Joo Prize of Excellence in Still Photography 2014, Wilfred Lim and Noor Iskandar. Terra Incognita speaks of the fraying threads the artists gathered as they traversed into unmapped territories in their journey.

Wilfred Lim’s Red Note-Part II investigates the placement of Man within his nature, reclaiming an identity through altered spaces and fragmented memories. Noor Iskandar’s How Dust Floats delves into the depths of emotional territories, in an attempt to poetically map out these landscapes of the unseen, engaging in a spiritual drama of love and light.

Terra Incognita explores the notions of lost and losing. The artists are seeking to regain familiarity and comfort in these conjured spaces through visual resonance and sentient experience.
