For some years now, Mélodie Meslet-Tourneux has been meeting those who work with clay. One of the distinctive features of ceramics is the universality. Through her exchanges, the artist discovers the connection between a civilisation and pottery and questions the stakes of this medium.
After some journeys in Japan, Mongolia, Morocco and Burkina Faso, she spent one month in the Kabylian mountains in Algeria in 2018. She has met several female potters and settles in Na Ouerdia’s workshop. The exhibition “Terre Kabyle” traces moments of contemplation, complicity and shared outlooks.
Mélodie Meslet-Tourneux, winner of the 9th France + Singapore Photographic Arts Award, is a French Photographer, who lives and works in Strasbourg.
