From award-winning Singaporean jazz pianist Tze Toh comes Círculo, a sweeping, lyrical concert bringing together East and West to celebrate the circles of life. This concert features a unique collaboration between Toh and Singapore Symphony Orchestra solo-piccolo and flautist Roberto Alvarez, and will combine the two cultures and influences of the soloists.
Featuring world-premieres of new works by Toh, also an award-winning film composer, Círculo takes inspiration from the hometowns of the soloists – from the stunning natural beauty of the Spanish town Asturias, to the glimmering, modern metropolis of Singapore. Audiences will delight in itsoriginal blend of Spanish music, jazz, Celtic, film, classical music and Asian sounds.
Reflecting a phenomenon that has permeated the 21st century, Círculo offers a poetic glimpse into Singapore’s musical identity as a melting pot of cultures.
