This August, the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC)’s TGIF Music Station, a fortnightly series of free music showcases, makes its return with a refreshed concert format to kickstart the weekends on the right note. Featuring Singapore’s very own home-grown talents from the likes of Kelly Poon to ShiGGa Shay, TGIF Music Station brings a diverse curation of tunes for everyone, and is part of the SCCC’s efforts to promote local arts and culture and invigorate the Central Business District.
The fortnightly series of music performances will commence from 3 August to 19 October 2018, with two sessions held each day on every first and third Friday of the month. The TGIF Music Station will move out of the SCCC for the first time with special lunch-time pop-up showcases at Tanjong Pagar Centre, bringing Singapore’s rich music culture to the working crowd at their convenience. An evening of song also awaits the public at the SCCC itself, as the centre presents an upsized music showcase, comprising three music sets featuring different artistes or performing groups from 7.15pm to 10pm.
