In celebration of SG50, Scotts Square collaborates with LASALLE College of the Arts to present “The Art of Celebration – Toy Legends” by Justin Lee, from 4 August to 31 August 2015.
Debuting at Scotts Square, “Toy Legends” is a creative spin on Singapore’s Golden Jubilee celebrations which pays tribute to the magnificent military displays at the annual National Day parades, through exuberant and dynamic action figures inspired by the Chinese Terracotta Warriors and the green plastic Army Men figurines.
Having been actively involved in the local art scene since 1996, Justin Lee is one of Singapore’s premier pop artists. In 2005, he was awarded the LaSalle Scholarship for his Master of Fine Arts program, the NAFA Scholarship for his BA Degree in Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, as well as the Georgette Chen Arts Scholarship for his Diploma in Fine Arts from the LaSalle-SIA College of the Arts. In 2006, Justin Lee was also presented with the prestigious Mont Blanc Young Artist World Patronage award at Hamburg, Germany.
The Art of Celebration runs from 4 August 2015 to 31 August 2015 at the Atrium of Scotts Square (Level 1) from 10.00am to 10.00pm daily, admission is FREE.
