A seated exhibition is where the paintings are hung at a seated person’s eye level. Chairs are placed in front of the painting and the visitor sit on the chairs to view the painting.
Seated exhibitions are rare, but they make art viewing “equitable” because everyone can see the painting properly, whenever it’s a child or someone on wheelchair.
Furthermore it encourages the viewer to take their time to slowly see the painting since they are comfortably seated. Just sending more time to look at a painting increases the viewer’s appreciation of art.
