For Sui Park, the surface is not a finish, but a record of time. Layer by layer, lacquer is applied, dried, sanded, and burnished — leaving behind textures that carry traces of repetition, touch, humidity, rhythm, and labour. Her practice reflects on cycles of accumulation and dissolution, where material continuously shifts between generation, erosion, disappearance, and renewal.
