The Journey Continues: Lee Wen’s Exploration of Identity

Lee Wen, Hard Rain, 1990, 87 x 60 cm, Acrylic on canvas

iPRECIATION presents “The Journey Continues: Lee Wen’s Exploration of Identity”, at ION Art Gallery (Level 4, ION Orchard, 2 Orchard Turn, Singapore 238801) from 13 – 17 Feb, 2025. This exhibition will feature Lee Wen’s works, from fine art photography prints to paintings and drawings. No stranger to the arts scene in Singapore, Lee Wen was a multidisciplinary artist and one of the country’s most internationally recognized contemporary and performance artists, playing a key role in shaping the development of performance art in Asia.

Over the span of 30 years, Lee has participated in more than 85 exhibitions and performances, both locally and internationally. His works have also been featured at prestigious art fairs, such as Art Basel Hong Kong in 2014, marking his debut at an international art fair, followed by Art Paris in 2015, Art Miami in 2017 and Art SG in 2024. Throughout his career, he has garnered numerous accolades and his works are part of the permanent collections at institutions.

Lee Wen passed away on March 3, 2019, in Singapore, but his legacy continues. His life and work reflected his belief that continuous learning and growth are fundamental to strength and progress — principles he embraced until his final moments. For Lee, art was not just about creation—it was about pushing boundaries and inviting others to join him on a journey of continuous growth and exploration.

In addition to the works featured at ION Art Gallery, visitors will have the opportunity to view a different selection of Lee’s works at iPRECIATION (50 Cuscaden Road, HPL House #01-01, 249724) from February 13 to March 1, 2025.
