The Living Room, presented as the third and final chapter of Collection Project: Communicating, Convening, Commoning, brings together performance-based works from the collections of SAM, Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA), and Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA). Inspired by the living room as a space for gathering and presence, the exhibition transforms the gallery into a space that evolves over time — shifting from static display to dynamic site of exchange. As performances works are activated and restaged throughout the exhibition’s run, The Living Room challenges conventional exhibition formats by rethinking how museums collect, care for, and meaningfully re-present performance-based works, embracing change, process, and the living encounter.
