K+ is presents a very special exhibition, co-organised with local charity organisation Very Special Arts Singapore, from 18 May to 24 June 2018. From idyllic kampung scenes to dappled landscapes of Singapore and beyond, “The View From Here” shines the spotlight on seven talented artists who use art to share their unique points of view with the rest of the world.
“The View From Here” will showcase fifteen original paintings from local artists. Each painting was selected not only for its artistic merit, but also for the story it tells—the “view” from the artists’ perspective. While divergent in medium and technique, all the works in this exhibition are connected by a shared love for art and painting.
Visitors are invited to see the world from “here” — from each of the artists’ place in the world. Familiar yet fresh in perspective, Eugene Soh’s dreamy forests and lakes, Ng Siang Hoi’s evocative paintings of old Singapore and Stanley Lim’s striking scenery are just a few works visitors can look forward to. K+ will also unveil UOB Painting of the Year (1993) recipient Raymond Lau’s newest painting, created especially for this exhibition.
