For more than three decades, Linda Gallery has been at the forefront of introducing and representing leading Chinese contemporary artists: Yin Zhaoyang, Chen Wenxi, Zhu Wei, Cai Zhisong, Jiang Shuo and Wu Shaoxiang, Gao Xiaowu, Xiao Hong, and Ren Zhe etc., whose works have found deep resonance with Singapore’s art audiences.
‘Their Story in Singapore’, reflects on the enduring ties these artists share with the city-state, revisiting themes of identity, place, and belonging that transcend geography and time. Through their distinct visual languages, these artists contemplate what it means to create in an age of shifting boundaries and shared histories. Their works speak to a collective consciousness shaped by migration, cultural memory, and the evolving notion of “home” in a world constantly in motion.
What new stories arise when this spirit encounters the restless energy of contemporary creation? In this meeting of cultures, memories do not simply fade; they shift, resurface, and transform – layered through distance, belonging, and the quiet persistence of identity over time.
