Queensway Television is pleased to present They Showed Me Their Hole by Joshua Kon, the artist’s final presentation in Singapore before departing to the U.K. the following month.
A product of an online chance encounter, Kon created this video work in collaboration with independent filmmaker Marcus Cheong, documenting the activities of the Underground Society, a recreational group dedicated to the guerrilla excavation of cavities around the country. Embedding himself within the Society, Kon gained access to interviews, documents, and archival materials to provide insight into the methods and motivations of the individuals who share this unique hobby, residing within the grey zones of legality and authorization.
