Inspired by The Singapore River: A Social History, 1819–2002 by Associate Professor Stephen Dobbs, this exhibition by Dr Kay Kok Chung-Oi presents nine vivid paintings that trace the river’s transformation — from its early days as a bustling colonial trade artery to today’s revitalised urban landmark.
Through the stories of two fictional characters, Ah Huat and Wei Wei, the artworks capture not only the river’s physical changes but also its enduring spirit and cultural legacy.
