Urban Art Interventions by Lisa Roet: Public Art And Beyond

Acclaimed Australian artist Lisa Roet has been working with the subject of Primates within her visual art practice for over 20 years. Her work floats between art and science and examines environmental issues such as global warming, deforestation and sustainability. Combining her artistic focuses on the complex interface between humans and our simian relatives, she will work with the student to take inspiration from the image of the ape and monkey as a mirror highlighting the environmental issues of today. With support from property company Chelsfield and investment management firm ARA, Lisa will be installing one of her large scale public art installations and also collaborating with students from LASALLE College of the Arts to create a unique site-specific artwork on the hoarding of 51 Bras Basah Road. Lisa will share her experience of developing and realising her public art projects around the world.

51 Bras Basah Road will undergo full façade and retail podium renovation between 2020 and 2021, transforming the building into a unique lifestyle-focussed workplace that amplifies the creative energy of the neighbourhood. The 200m long art hoarding will be revealed in the first quarter of 2020 and on view until the second quarter of 2021.
