Waning, Waxing features recent works by 22 young Singaporean artists on the theme of change and fluctuation through process-based work. From different backgrounds and practices, these 22 artists come together through reflecting on the theme of constant change, fluctuation and through a unique reflection on how they grapple with living in a place of continuous transformation while coming into their own.
ION Art is a prominent partner of visual art as a key platform for many established and emerging artists to exhibit both retrospective and first time work. With Waning, Waxing, ION Art has provided yet another stage for emerging artists to let their work communicate with the world.
Through the visions and voices of young artists living in Singapore, visitors are invited to experience a variety of process-based work addressing fluctuations in materiality, identity, life, death and even the art-making process itself.
The exhibition will also feature a series of programmes on 6 and 13 January, which includes artist talks, workshops and demonstrations.
