Artist Zai Kuning will share about his process-based and research-oriented practice. In June 2024, Zai held his solo exhibition “I Died a Hundred Times” at Ota Fine Arts Tokyo. His ideas were further developed during his residency in Omachi, Nagano for The Primitive Sense Arts Festival, where he created an installation piece consisting of a boat-shaped structure made from bamboo sourced locally, with the same title “We are home and everywhere”. Subsequently, Zai’s ideas evolve further as he works towards his upcoming solo exhibition in Singapore, which is dedicated to the country, especially the children and their future, living in a multi-cultural society. In this talk, Zai will walk us through the development of his thoughts and the importance of the artist’s process.
