Tang Contemporary Art Singapore is pleased to announce Web of Being: The Living Network, an exhibition that challenges traditional views by revealing how all forms of life are interconnected, from microscopic to cosmic, through diverse artistic expressions that blur the boundaries between observer and the observed. This group exhibition features the works of internationally acclaimed artists: Qin Qi, Cai Lei, Xu Hongxiang, Woo Kukwon, Guillermo Lorca, Rodel Tapaya, Jason Martin, and Jonas Hödicke.
Our fundamental human existence is shaped by the interplay between our consciousness and microscopic organisms, a classic tale of nature versus nurture. This exhibition showcases artists with diverse cultural and sociopolitical viewpoints, turning the gallery into a space where different dimensions of existence meet. Through immersive works, they expose the hidden links between our mind (nature), and our environment (nurture), inviting us to see our existence as a part of a multi-layered web of symbiotic relationships.
Web of Being challenges viewers to rethink their place in the universe, suggesting that human consciousness is part of a vast, interconnected network where all beings, human and nonhuman, engage in a continuous exchange of observation and influence.
