When the World Stops Turning is an artistic research and exhibition project that brings together curators and artists from Korea and Singapore in an exploration of death and grief. While the title evokes the stillness experienced during the pandemic, it serves more broadly as a metaphor for the profound sorrow that can often disable us in times of tragedy and loss.
Through this collaboration, artists and curators reflect on how death impacts our lives on both personal and collective levels. They delve into intimate narratives of loss while also examining the broader societal and political dimensions of death. Through their work, they honour overlooked stories and forgotten victims, addressing the wounds carried by both the departed and the living.
