Renown Singaporean artist Wu Xueli’s abstract series Rhapsody of Colours was selected by Goshen Art Gallery for a solo art exhibition at Pan Pacific Hotel Singapore. Wu Xueli is a Singapore based female artist, who is known for her passionate, dynamic and colourful, abstract oil paintings. Supported by CRIB Pte Ltd (a social enterprise which aims to empower women to become successful entrepreneurs through networking, matchmaking and business incubation), Goshen Art Gallery has selected over 30 pieces of Wu’s work for the exhibition, which will be shown from 3rd February to 1st May 2016, at Pan Pacific Hotel Singapore.
Wu Xueli’s series of works fits the ongoing art trend and consumer preferences in the Singaporean art market. “Wu Xueli uses bold colours, depth and strong textures in her work, and together with mastering traditional and modern strokes, you can almost see a rhythm of musical poetry in her paintings.” said gallery director Mr. Jack Yu. “The oil paintings reflect the artist’s visual expression of her inner soul, creative thinking as well as her feelings in the process of painting. We see a rising trend in collecting South East Asian art, especially those of modern contemporary themes. Wu Xueli’s paintings are exactly what art investors seek; the skilful use of chinese painting methods to create modern abstract art”.
Since 1991, after having moved to Singapore from China, Xueli’s reputation has grown leaps and bounds after taking part in a number of exhibitions. Prior to that, her works have been exhibited in Taiwan, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. Her works are also collected by the China Art Museum, China Art Society, Singapore Art Museum, OdysseyRe Corporation in France, Li Keran Art Museum, and various art organisations and private connoisseurs in China and abroad. Xueli holds a master degree in oil painting from LaSalle-SIA College of Arts in Singapore.
In view of this art show Xueli stated “I am very pleased and gratified to be chosen by Goshen Art Gallery for this solo show. It is nice to be recognized locally in the art epicentre of the world (Singapore), also because it is where I now live and work”.
Goshen Art Gallery also offers art leasing programs, in addition to the representation of renown local and international artists. The gallery has over 8000 pieces of artworks in its collection, with the mission to nurture promising talents and to provide a platform for these artists to showcase their work.
