The Fullerton Hotel and The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore welcome the Yale Whim n’ Rhythm, the all-senior, all-female collegiate a cappella group from Yale University, for a three-day only performance at the hotels from 12 to 14 June 2015.
Founded by seven female Yale seniors as an answer to the decade-old tradition of The Whiffenpoofs, the world’s oldest and best-known collegiate a capella group, Whim n’ Rhythm has continued to grow over the past thirty-three years to represent the best and most experienced female musicians on Yale’s campus and on national and international stages.
Prospective singers audition in the spring of their junior year and the selected talents are recruited into Whim n’ Rhythm the following fall. Post-commencement, the group takes a four-to-six week World Tour, a tradition set by the group’s male counterparts – The Whiffenpoofs.
The Summer World Tour 2015 will see them travel to 6 continents, 11 countries, in 50 days. As part of the Singapore leg of their tour, the 14-female undergraduate musical group will be making guest performances at the Grand Stairs of The Fullerton Hotel’s lobby and the eponymous dining restaurant of a 1933 heritage site, The Clifford Pier, at The Fullerton Bay Hotel. Guests will be serenaded with a repertoire of traditional Yale songs, original compositions and hits from every decade.
