The Yellow Ribbon Community Art Exhibition (YRCAE) 2018 celebrates its 11th year of showcasing inmates’ talents through art. YRCAE allows inmates to express their emotions and aspirations for reacceptance through artistic mediums such as paintings, art installations and sculptures.
The theme for this year’s exhibition is “Transitions: Crossroads & Choices” which reflects the transitions experienced in inmates’ lives, as well as the many difficult choices they have to make during the course of their rehabilitation journey. Through the inmates’ artwork, visitors will also be able to empathize with their past struggles and mistakes, connect with their desire for acceptance and reintegration, and support their hopes for the future.
This year’s exhibition features 78 artworks skillfully crafted by our inmate artists from Visual Arts Hub and Institution A. It will be held at Raffles City Singapore Level 3 Atrium from 22 to 30 Sep 2018.
Featured artwork may be adopted by the members of the public. All proceeds will be directed to the Yellow Ribbon Fund (YRF) in support of the rehabilitation of ex-offenders.
