Young Photographers’ Mentorship Programme 2026: Open Call

Deadline: Mon 31 Aug 2026 2359SGT

The Young Photographers’ Mentorship Programme (YPMP) aims to develop the artistic voice and ambitions of young image-makers looking to deepen their connection with image-making and consider a career in the visual arts or photography. This three-week mentorship programme encourages exploration and experimentation with image-based work, while developing an understanding of professional possibilities in the arts.

What can you expect?

Through working on a personal project, participants will learn how to build a photographic practice, navigate professional and ethical challenges, and deepen their understanding of the broader arts ecosystem. The programme will culminate in a work-in-progress presentation at Objectifs, offering the chance to share their work with peers, industry professionals, and the public.

Participants will be guided by some of Singapore’s leading visual storytellers, gaining valuable insights through mentorship, group critique sessions, and hands-on learning. Whether you’re just starting out or already on your creative path, this programme offers a space to develop your vision and understanding of the photographic arts.

Applicants should note that the programme focuses on conceptual development and storytelling through images, rather than technical instruction in photography. The programme is free to apply and attend.

Programme sessions:
1) 28 Nov, Sat, 12pm – 5pm
2) 1 Dec, Tue, 7pm – 10.30pm
3) 3 Dec, Thu, 7pm – 10pm
4) 5 Dec, Sat, 2pm – 5pm
5) 8 Dec, Tue, 7pm – 10pm
6) 10 Dec, Thu, 7pm – 10pm
7) 12 Dec, Sat, 12pm – 5pm
8) 15 Dec, Tue, 7pm – 10pm
9) 17 Dec, Thu, 7pm – 10pm
Presentation – 18 Dec (5pm – 9pm) and 19 Dec (12pm – 9pm)

Who should apply for this programme?

YPMP is open to Singapore-based photographers aged 18 to 24 years old. Applicants over 24 years old who are currently enrolled in tertiary education may still apply.

Participants must be in Singapore during the entirety of the programme period and commit to attending all workshop sessions in person.

Please apply or find out more via our website.

Street art is flourishing in Singapore. So why does it still make some people uneasy?

As murals, busking and other forms of street art become increasingly common in Singapore's public spaces, artists say acceptance has grown to some degree. Yet, they can't shake off the sense that such art remains carefully curated and managed.
