Award-winning ceramic artist, Yukiharu Furuno, celebrates his 50th anniversary by showcasing his works in Singapore for the first time. Featuring at least 20 artworks, Inspirations from the Blue is a solo exhibition introducing his past and current works.
Visitors will learn more about Furuno’s journey as a ceramic artist through the stories behind these creations and how they came into being. This exhibition is more than just an artist’s work, but a community’s effort as well.
Inspirations from the Blue is a nod to his award-winning Royal Blue series, a distinct new style created after the passing of his beloved wife in 2003. Prior to this series, his works featured yellow ash-glazed ceramics for over 35 years.
Furuno will also unveil new works inspired by Singapore’s diverse cultures and rich designs as a tribute to his first solo show here.
In partnership with Together-Gether and venue sponsored by That Spare Room, this exhibition introduces Furuno’s works through a conceptualised setting. Visitors will appreciate the marriage of traditional and contemporary aesthetics found in his works, and visualise how these look in a modern home.
All artworks on display will be on sale. Yukiharu Furuno will be in attendance throughout the exhibition at selected timings. Art enthusiasts and collectors alike will have the rare opportunity to interact with the artist through artist’s tours, art conversations over coffees and other sharing sessions.
