As the world grows increasingly complex and divided, a unique cultural initiative in Singapore has inspired harmony by reconnecting audiences with the timeless
virtues of cultural heritage. The Kindness in Ink, Harmony in Art Cultural Art Exhibition, held on 17–18 May 2025 at the Visual Arts Centre, drew hundreds of attendees—including art enthusiasts, collectors, spiritual seekers, and cultural leaders.
Jointly presented by internationally acclaimed Chinese First-Class Artist Yang Bailiang and spiritual life teacher Lu Xia, a pioneer in cosmic energy application, the exhibition offered a compelling convergence of heritage, artistry, and contemporary wisdom. Over the two-day event, more than 40 original artworks by Artist Yang were showcased—each embodying core Chinese philosophical ideals such as filial piety, compassion, integrity, and resilience.
The event also marked the official Singapore launch of The Power Within – Unlocking A High Potential Energy Life, the latest publication by Teacher Lu Xia—a respected spiritual mentor with over 30 years of experience guiding individuals through personal transformation using cosmic energy. In this book, Teacher Lu Xia offers practical wisdom for navigating modern-day challenges and cultivating inner harmony, while introducing pioneering concepts such as unlocking the subconscious mind as a breakthrough pathway to personal growth and healing.
“When the energy of our mind is strong, it drives our actions. This art exhibition seeks to infuse positive energy into people’s minds—nurturing right thinking and consciousness, so we can act with clarity, purpose, and strength.” said Teacher Lu Xia.
Throughout the weekend, attendees experienced live painting demonstrations, meditative activities, and interactive dialogue sessions. Both the artist and Teacher Lu Xia shared insights into the deeper meaning behind the works, exploring how cultural heritage, art, and energy align to bring healing and personal breakthroughs.
Artist Yang Bailiang, whose work has been exhibited in international galleries from Paris and Milan to Taipei, shared:
“The figures I paint are revered throughout history for the light and impact they’ve brought to human civilisation. Through my art, I hope to express and carry forward their enduring spirit.”
Professor Ng Yew Kwang, a Malaysian-Australian economist and current Special Chair Professor of Economics at Fudan University, Shanghai, shared his thoughts in a pre-recorded interview that was presented to the audience in lieu of his physical attendance.
The exhibition was organised by Lu Xia Healing Sanctuary, an organisation committed to promoting healing, harmony, and personal growth through art, cultural education, and spirituality. Supported by a dedicated team of cultural volunteers and regional sponsors, the event was praised for its seamless integration of traditional cultural values with modern personal growth wisdom—making it a distinctive and first-of-its-kind experience in Singapore’s arts calendar.
Plans are underway to bring the exhibition and book to other cities across Asia later this year.
