Yeo Workshop officially closes its gallery space at 1 Lock Road. The gallery will reopen a new space under its sister brand, the Singapore Arts Club, to continue its work in championing local artists and developing new audiences for the visual arts. From June 2018 until the first quarter of 2019, the gallery will be suspending its exhibition programmes in order to accelerate towards several exciting new projects that are in the works.
Opening officially on 1 August 2018, the brand new space will be presented as a fresh canvas and open platform for the community. The team of the Singapore Arts Club will dedicate all its energy towards fostering the local arts community, while bridging it to other communities and industries, from technology and design, finance and business, food and beverage, lifestyle and fashion. The Singapore Arts Club will invite key individuals, influencers, and entrepreneurs from these sectors to participate in a monthly forum and broadsheet magazine titled “Audience with an Artist”. Through its dialogue and networking, the Club will become both a hive for new ideas, as well as an incubator for new audiences to be introduced to the visual arts.
Besides the regular programming of “Audience with an Artist”, the space will be set up as a comfortable viewing and reading room. It will be open to the public during regular gallery hours.
