Affordable Art Fair Singapore 2019

News

Affordable Art Fair returns to Singapore from 22–24 November 2019. All set to turn the city pink and celebrate its 10th year in Singapore, this year’s edition will present 83 local and international galleries showing more than 600 artists. Nearly 30% of the galleries are taking part for the first time. All works are priced below S$15,000, with 75% of the pieces being tagged below S$7,500.

This year also marks the 20th year of Affordable Art Fair in London and the 10th edition of the Singapore fair. Since the fair was founded by Will Ramsay in 1999, Affordable Art Fair has become the largest organiser of popular art fairs in the world.

Affordable Art Fair Singapore has grown from 9,500 visitors and S$1.75 million in art sales in 2010 to 12,000 visitors and S$3.7 million in sales in 2018, reflecting the growing appetite for contemporary art in Singapore. Since 2010, visitors to Affordable Art Fair Singapore have purchased a total of S$43.61 million in art for their homes.

This year, AAF Singapore welcomes 23 new galleries who will bring works by fresh exciting artists. 27 local galleries will exhibit at the fair: Art Forum Gallery, Art Architecture, ArtBlue Studio, ARTitude Galeria, Artredot, Asian Art Platform, Astrid Dahl Studio Gallery, Blue Lotus Fine Art, Bruno Gallery, Chryse Gallery of Fine Art, Evart Gallery, Gallery 1819, Gnani Arts, Miaja Art Collections, Ode to Art, REDSEA Gallery, Roza Design, Shenns Softart, Singapore International Contemporary Art Society, Sophie Studio 5, Studio-ID Art Gallery, Talking Textiles, Tembusu Art Gallery, Tide Impressions Gallery, Utterly Art, White Space Art Asia, Y Art Project.

Visitors can expect to see exciting and fresh works from new artists, which form 35% of this year’s show, such as Singaporean artist Ng Chai Soong (Y Art Project); Vietnamese artist Nguyen Nghia Cuong (Chryse Gallery of Fine Art); and Taiwanese artist Ti Lei (SHENNS softart). They will show alongside established and returning artists such as the legendary Toko Shinoda, who is currently 106 years old.
