From 26th to 29th March 2015, Art Paris Art Fair will bring together some 140 international galleries at the Grand Palais in Paris, presenting a wide panorama of modern and contemporary art which also includes photography, design and art books.
The guests of honour for the 2015 edition of the fair are Singapore and South East Asia. Exhibition curator and specialist researcher on Southeast Asia Lola Lenzi is curating the platform dedicated to galleries based in Singapore that will showcase a wide variety of talents from Burma, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand.
The programme of this unprecedented invitation to Paris of the booming South Asian scene will also include a series of conferences and video screenings. It will coincide with the launch of the Singapore Art festival at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, celebrating 50 years of the city-state’s independence.
New in 2015 is a section entitled Solo Show dedicated to personal exhibitions. This comes alongside Promises, the section for young galleries, ArtBooks Librairie Flammarion for art and artists’ publications and Artdesign, a platform that explores the links between contemporary art and design. All these elements combine to give Art Paris Art Fair its unique identity as a European fair that focusses on discovery and looks to the East.
Participating galleries from Singapore include Art Forum, Art Plural, Art Seasons, Chan Hampe Galleries, Element Art Space, iPreciation, Singapore Tyler Print Institute (STPI), Sundaram Tagore, and Yeo Workshop.
