ArtScience Museum lines up many free events in commemoration of Singapore’s 49th birthday

News

In commemoration of Singapore’s 49th birthday, ArtScience Museum will be offering free admission to the museum for the upcoming National Day weekend. The public can visit the museum’s current exhibition, Annie Leibovitz A Photographer’s Life 1990 – 2005, for free on Saturday, 9 August and Sunday, 10 August. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a free guided tour around Annie Leibovitz on Sunday, 11.30am.

Annie Leibovitz A Photographer’s Life 1990 – 2005 made its Singapore debut at ArtScience Museum on 18 April 2014. Featuring close to 200 photographs, Annie Leibovitz provides a unified narrative of Annie Leibovitz’s private life against the backdrop of her public image. At the heart of the exhibition is the personal memoir of Annie Leibovitz, documenting a particular timeframe within her life, including the loss of close relations, birth and childhood of her three daughters, family vacations, reunions, and close friends. The exhibition will end on 19 October 2014.

Free public programmes activities are also lined up over the weekend for visitors to take part. Both the Cyanotypes and Photograms workshops will be themed with National Day insignia:
