“This was our best-ever Show, with a fabulous selection of art from all over the world, record sales of artworks, and record attendance by collectors and art buyers. The market is strong for quality works, and Hong Kong Art Week in mid March has certainly become a mecca for international collectors and art lovers to visit the city,”
said Mark Saunderson, Director of Asia Contemporary Art Ltd,” as the 6th edition of the Asia Contemporary Art Show closed on Sunday March 15th.
An exit survey of exhibitors indicated record sales of over HK$28 million during the four-day event at the Conrad Hong Kong. “Attendance also hit a record level,” Saunderson noted. “We welcomed well over 10,000 art lovers from Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, Japan, other parts of Asia, and many Western countries as well. Their comments on the quality, diversity and value of the artworks on show were very encouraging, and we have an ideas bucket on how to continue developing the event for our 7th edition this October.”
Exhibiting at the Asia Contemporary Art Show for the third time Australian artist Julia Carter shared, “l love visiting Hong Kong and thanks to the team at the Asia Contemporary Art Show I have a growing base of collectors, with several becoming friends. I sold out at the just finished Show, a first for me – not a piece to take home to Australia! I have participated in several art fairs, the set up at the Conrad Hong Kong works and is cost effective. Another plus, after the Show closes I can continue to present my works on art website Asia Contemporary Art Buyer (www.asiacontemporaryart.com) and typically I receive 3-4 inquiries monthly.
The Fall edition of the Asia Contemporary Art Show will be held October 8 – 11 2015, again at the Conrad Hong Kong. Exhibitor Applications are now open.
