1000 Singapores: Eight Points of the Compact City updates, expands and critically re-examines the original exhibition*. 1000 Singapores was presented in Paris earlier in 2015, as one of the highlights of the Singapore Festival in France, celebrating 50 years of diplomatic ties between Singapore and France.
The exhibition examines the possibilities, challenges and problematics of the Compact City using eight core principles: Density, Territories, Nature, Infrastructure, Urban Models, Governance, Economics and Architecture. Through juxtaposition, statistics and comparative studies of urban conditions between Singapore and Paris, the exhibition proposes both cities’ ambitions and limits of city-planning. Also, keep a look out for a Forum with the curators on 18 Jan 2016.
