Ngee Ann Cultural Centre (NACC) presents the 10th Ngee Ann Photographic Exhibition (NAPE) – an exhibition that promotes local photography art and showcases the more than 230 works of more than 170 local professional and amateur photographers. They include former Cultural Medallion Award winners Mr Foo Tee Jun, Mr Tan Lip Seng, and renowned local artists like Mr Liew Tong Leng, Mr Chua Seng Chye and others.
With the increased popularity of photography art in Singapore, the NACC organised the first photographic exhibition in 2005 to provide a platform for all amateur and professional photographers to showcase their works and engage with a wider audience, regardless of age, race, religion and nationality. Participation to the exhibition is free and there are no limitations on the theme to allow the participants to submit their best work.

Each year, the NACC honours a renowned local photographer with the Ngee Ann Photographer of the Year in recognition of his/her accomplishments and contributions to the field of photography. This year, the Centre is honoured to present this distinctive award to Mr Goh Kim Hui. Mr Goh will be showcasing 20 of his recent photos at the NAPE. Moreover, he will also hold a talk to discuss and share his inspirations from ancient philosophies, namely WuXing and Yin Yang, as well as his favourite techniques in photography.
Currently in its 10th year, the annual NAPE has received huge support and enthusiastic participation from local photographers and various photography societies. To commemorate this achievement and to uphold the preservation of our cultural heritage, the NACC organised a special photo contest that features the newly-restored Yueh Hai Ching Temple on Phillip Street, the oldest Teochew Temple in town, on top of our regular exhibition.
In a bid to promote photography arts among the younger Singaporeans, schools and students were invited to participate in this year’s NAPE, as well as in the Yueh Hai Ching Temple Photo Contest. More than 50 students’ works will be displayed at NAPE.
