12th Ngee Ann Photographic Exhibition 2017

Ngee Ann Cultural Centre (NACC), a subsidiary of The Ngee Ann Kongsi, is proud to present the 12th Ngee Ann Photographic Exhibition 2017 (NAPE). Contrary to most photography exhibitions held in Singapore, NAPE provides a non-commercial and open theme platform to all the shutterbugs, regardless of age, race or experience, to freely express their creativity in photography and showcase their work to the members of public.

This year, the Ngee Ann Photographic Exhibition will be showcasing over 240 creative photography works, ranging from wide spectrums of themes, from 185 photographers. Amongst of them are professional, amateur, photo enthusiasts and students.

Every year, the Centre would invite some of the famous local photographers to showcase their photographic works in the exhibition. This year, a total of 20 invited photographers will be featuring their recent photographs at NAPE, making it the most number of invited photographers since the inception of this exhibition. Amongst of them including, Foo Tee Jun (a former Cultural Medallion), Tan Lip Seng, Yip Hoi Kee, Goh Kim Hui, Teo Yong Kang and many others.

Raymond Chua Seng Chye, Magical Lights, 2002, Inner Mongolia

The highlight of the exhibition is award presentation to this year’s winner of “Ngee Ann Photographer of the Year”, Mr Chua Seng Chye. At age 65, Mr Chua began his journey of photography in early 1970s and has been actively involving in the art form for nearly four decades. Apart from attaining numerous local and international photography awards along the years, he has been appointed as a photographic technical advisor to several local and overseas photography clubs and presiding in judging committee in many local and international photography competitions.
