Kodaly Academy of Music (Singapore) (KAM) is set to host the fourth biennial symposium in Singapore for the first time. Held from 17-23 August 2020, this year’s edition will be truly exceptional as it will also be the first-ever virtual symposium where a panel of international educators and musicians from around the world will gather to share their experience and expertise in lively hands-on workshops and presentations that will empower musician-educators in their daily work.
Themed ‘Digitalisation of Music Education, Composition and Performance’, participants can look forward to a dedicated series of intensive, practical workshops and lectures for music professionals, ranging from music classroom teachers, conductors, voice and instrumental teachers and music students. Apart from learning about the central philosophy of the Kodaly Concept, the week-long event will also see a dynamic and collaborative mix of over 30 hours of top-notch ‘live’ synchronous and asynchronous content – ranging from roundtable discussions on solfege, composition and conducting, discussion of digital tools, voice and piano pedagogy, musicianship training, and a whole host of other ideas that will be useful during these unprecedented times as the world copes with the COVID-19 pandemic.
