‘A Man Without A Hobby Is Worthless’ is an intimate solo exhibition by Filipino artist Pow Martinez, one of the most promising and prolific young artists in the Philippines, Martinez is a recipient of the prestigious Ataneo art award in 2010.

A Man Without A Hobby Is Worthless is Pow Martinez’ first solo exhibition in Singapore. In this series of fresh works, we are presented with a chance to understand the artist at an intimate level. Martinez partakes in a radical practise – a new ‘false’ mythology, he calls it.

Pow Martinez is a Manila-based interdisciplinary artist. He studied Visual Communication at the University of the Philippines and Painting at the Kalayaan College. He holds a degree in Painting and Visual Communication. Martinez’ works has been exhibited in the Philippines and internationally (in Germany, France, United States, Thailand and others).
