A Studio of One’s Own (Season 2)

Back in June 2020, with the onset of the pandemic having kept us all at home, DECK launched a series of dialogues, entitled A Studio of One’s Own, with 11 artists from all over Southeast Asia, speaking about their adaptation to the inevitable changing circumstances whilst sustaining their artistic practice.

Fast forward to June 2021, DECK is debuting the first episode of A Studio of One’s Own Season 2 on the 17th June, with guest artist Manit Sriwanichpoom, one of Thailand’s leading photographers, and renowned international contemporary artist.

Continuing the streak is none other than Lim Sokchanlina, joining us in Episode 2 on the 1st of July.

Episode 3 features guest artist Sebastian Mary Tay. Sebastian is an interdisciplinary artist who graduated from The Glasgow School of Art with a Masters in Research and a Bachelor in Fine Art.
Episode 3 premiers LIVE on DECK’s Facebook, 15th July at 8PM.

The next Episode of A Studio of One’s Own (Episode 4) features guest artists none other than, Chow and Lin. 29 July 2021

12 August: We feature George Wong, a Singaporean visual artist that is inspired by his daily encounters, and is intrigued by the absurd possible outcomes from overthinking. His diverse practice includes photography, print, film, books, performance and installation. He is currently exploring local topics such as the Singapore “kampung” spirit and the Singaporean education system.

Our next guest features Agan Harahap, a contemporary artist based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Known for his intriguing and eye-catching photographs and drawing references from pop culture, Agan’s photographs intrigue his audiences with his playful imagery. 26 August
