Sun Yee (1919-2010) was a contemporary of pioneer artist Georgette Chen, and one of the few women Nanyang artists. Like Liu Kang, she was equally proficient in Western and Asian art forms and created works in both Chinese ink and western oil painting. Her works are widely collected, including a permanent collection at the National University of Singapore Museum.
Tan Ai Ngin (1972-2013) graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1996, with further studies at the School of Fine and Performing Arts Constantijn Huygens in Holland. She held four solo exhibitions in Singapore and three in Holland. Known for her nostalgic charms of Singapore in oil, her works have been collected by Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Singapore Tourism Board.
All Saints Home (ASH) is grateful to be the beneficiary of the beautiful works kindly donated by the families of the late Sun Yee and Tan Ai Ngin. This charity exhibition aims to raise funds for ASH eldercare services for needy elderly in Singapore. 70% of all sales proceeds will be donated to ASH, an Institution of Public Character.
