Allen Tang is a life-long nature lover and an avid collector of Chinese antiques. Being widely read on various religions, Tang believes that things in nature are as spiritual and precious as man himself. It would be his responsibility to depict and promote the message of appreciating and protecting the status quo on the right balance between man and his environment.
Since his first solo art exhibition in 1985, held at the Alliance Française in Singapore, the artist has been exploring the technique of creating art, experimenting with the treatment of oil colours, material of the pictorial space, and the actual process of creation. Up to 30 colours are layered and mixed on the spot via spraying, pouring, dipping, etching and brush-stroking in harmony, resulting in compositions of controlled randomness in dots, lines and planes.
Allen’s art is fully dynamic, tensely packed with three dimensionality and layering effects. He depicts wind, feeling of movement, life within objects, the colour dispersions and merges the vital energy released by all living beings to create a new world with infinite artistic possibilities.
