Angie Seah, We Will Live Forever 2017
Born in 1979, Angie Seah is a Singaporean artist whose multidisciplinary practice traverses the mediums of drawing, sculpture, performance art, sound and video to respond about the enigma of life and explore facets of the human condition. In this instance, the central ideas behind We Will Live Forever focuses on the role of art in uplifting the human spirit and better understand the intricacies of the human condition from a personal position. It explores themes such as death which the artist negotiates as an inherent human experience while observing and tackling material and esoteric manifestations of ‘illumination’ in our daily lives. The artist consistently embodies her life philosophy and spirituality as a Muslim woman in her works, making references through the gestural and the poetic.
