Apa Khabair? – Peranakan Museum in the Making

Apa Khabair? – Peranakan Museum in the Making is an enriching and engaging showcase on the vibrant Peranakan culture, in anticipation of the Peranakan Museum’s reopening in the first half of 2023.

“Apa Khabair?” is a familiar Baba Malay greeting meaning “What news is there?”. As the title for this exhibition, it heralds the reopening of the Peranakan Museum as something new to look forward to. Just as “Apa Khabair?” is used to kickstart conversations, this exhibition invites the public to join in, in three segments – community collaborations, a historical timeline of the Peranakan Museum and a selection of delicate and finely-crafted pieces, some of which are on display for the first time.

Venue: Asian Civilisations Museum, 1 Empress Place Singapore 179555

When: 25 Feb - 29 May 2022, 10am - 7pm (to 9pm on Friday)

By: Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM)
