Art Encounters by Art Outreach, a long-running travelling exhibition series housed in repurposed shipping containers, will travel to the heart of Little India from 2 December 2022 to 2 January 2023, featuring an experimental audio-visual project by AVC—comprising painter Bridget Tay and musician Nazrin Ramlee—that bridges sound/noise and visual art.
Marking the tenth and final edition of the 3-year pilot programme in partnership with Singapore Tourism Board (STB), Synapse Intarsia welcomes visitors to experience an interactive site-specific installation that examines the relationship and dynamics between painting and sound by reconstructing the fundamental elements of each.
Presented across two spaces, the exhibition features video projections, electronic circuits, and sensors that work in unison to generate a cacophony of sound in response to changes in light frequencies and visitor movement. In a second container, an outpour of bulbous, neon forms, come to life with motion sensors that respond to visitor’s movement, inviting audiences into an active encounter with art.
