Art Encounters by Art Outreach, a long-running travelling exhibition series housed in repurposed shipping containers, will travel to the outdoor atrium of Plaza Singapura from 17 September to 24 October 2022, featuring a cascading paper installation and site-specific wall mural, alongside rarely-seen drawings and sculptural objects by local artist Ashley Yeo.
From meditative pigment on paper drawings and pastel paintings that bloom across the walls, to enchanting paper sculptures and installations of varying scale – including a filigree paper cube and screen installation, Till the Last Blossom invites visitors to step into an ethereal showcase that demonstrates Yeo’s laborious artmaking process and extensive craftsmanship.
In keeping with Art Encounter’s mission to bring art closer to the public, the artist will be live drawing a pastel mural inside the container on the opening weekend (September 17 and 18). There will also be an educational activity station available daily throughout the exhibition for younger visitors to try their hand at decorative paper cutting and make their own candle holders.
Till the Last Blossom will open daily from 17 Sep to 24 Oct 2022, 11am – 9pm. The artist will be present on Saturday afternoons to interact with visitors and present paper-cutting demonstrations. Admission is free.
