In an ambitious new alumni support initiative, LASALLE College of the Arts is partnering with tcc – The Connoisseur Concerto to present Art Moves, a year-long travelling exhibition featuring over 50 artworks by 10 recent BA(Hons) Fine Arts graduates.

Art Moves turns the traditional exhibition model on its head by bringing art to audience, engaging potential buyers outside the ambiance and environment of a gallery space and providing a springboard for these LASALLE graduates to launch their art careers.

The exhibition is curated by Dr. S. Chandrasekaran, artist and Senior Lecturer from LASALLE’s Faculty of Fine Arts. Said Chandra: “The main aim is to provide continuous support to our alumni artists. The invaluable support from companies like tcc – The Connoisseur Concerto provides these young alumni with a platform to continue their practices.”

During the course of the 12-month exhibition, the artworks displayed at Raffles Xchange will rotate with those at The Pier @ Robertson to expose them to a wider audience, while new exhibits will be showcased at the tcc ‘The Gallery’ at Circular Road.

A series of arts workshops, talks, and “Get To Know The Artist” activities are also being planned to further deepen engagement between the artists and their audience. The artworks span a wide variety of themes and media, from paintings and drawings to prints, photographs, ceramics and installations. Most of the exhibited artworks retail in the affordable art price range of between $100 to $1,000, with certain larger pieces going for between $1,000 to $3,000.

A portion of the proceeds from artwork sales will be donated to the loveLASALLE Education Fund, which provides bursaries to financially disadvantaged students at LASALLE.
