This special screening presents a selection of Brazilian films and videos introduced by curator Raphael Fonseca and artist Ismael Monticelli, who are in residence at LASALLE’s Institute of Contemporary Art Singapore for the month of January.
Made by artists and collectives in the last 10 years, the eight works respond to the shifting sociopolitical conditions of Brazil. The selected films are inspired by various communities and geographies; they reference pop culture, musicals, history and the land.
