Harper’s BAZAAR Art is calling out for entries from the most talented artists on the island for the BAZAAR Art Prize 2017. The judges panel for the second edition of this prestigious art competition includes Kenneth Goh, Editor-in-Chief, Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore; Hazel Lim, Fine Arts Programme Leader, LASALLE College of the Arts; June Yap, curator and art historian; Boo Sze Yang, artist; Tang Wen Li, Director of Christie’s Singapore; and Mo Loke, General Manager, Architecture & Design, Scotts Square. The judges will select 12 finalists across four different categories. The finalists will have their works published in the January 2017 issue of BAZAAR Art Singapore and have a chance to exhibit their work at Scotts Square.
CATEGORIES
2D works on Canvas
To be larger than 30cm x 30cm
and smaller than 180cm x 180cm.
2D works on Paper
To be larger than 30cm x 30cm
and smaller than 180cm x 180cm.
Photography
Can be digital, traditional—analogue or polaroid photography—including innovative manipulation of an image.
Sculpture/Installation
All materials are accepted. Participants are required to explain the display
JUDGING CRITERIA
Entries will be judged on the originality of the work, the technique used, creativity, and the quality of the execution.
The concept should express a personal point of view, be critical and sensitive and reflect the universe and imagination of the artist.
The judging committee will check all entries in a series for consistency against the concept proposed.
WINNER
S$10,000* cash prize and the opportunity to exhibit their work at Scotts Square.
*The cash prize is remuneration for the winning artwork. Winning artwork will belong to Scotts Square
