Singaporean artist, Jaxton Su’s world is rich with imagination and fantasy. His current exhibition involves the exploration of dreams, archetypes and escapism. ‘Not all who wander are lost‘ is a series of whimsical paintings conceived by drawing links to the ideas of escapism and wanderlust, inspired by the artist’s travels and imagination. Using oil as his main medium, Jaxton plays around with his painting composition by incorporating strange elements, animals and people coupled with a disarming sense of humour. His use of bizarre, dream-like images invite viewers to ponder over the symbolism and the hidden meanings that he has weaved into each painting.
Jaxton Su (b. 1988, Singapore) graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication from the School of Art, Design and Media at NTU in 2013.
