As part of Print Lab, Grey Projects presents a bookbinding workshop with Pooja Makhijani. Participants will learn the craft of long stitch binding, a technique that dates back to medieval Germany. Long stitch binding is a sturdy and distinctive technique that allows the spine to lie flat. In this workshop, master two variations of the long stitch technique: one with slotted wrapper cover (pictured left above), and the other with chain/link stitch (right).
Pooja Makhijani writes children’s books, essays, and articles, and also develops educational media and curricula. She has been teaching the book arts in Singapore since 2011 in community and educational institutions.
Workshop fee: $60 (all materials included)
