Capturing Katong: Youth Perspectives and Cultural Canvas seeks to illuminate the vivacious heritage and culture of the Katong Joo Chiat Neighbourhood (Singapore’s First Heritage Town) through the imaginative lenses of our budding artists.
The essence of this exhibition lies in its ability to intricately weave together the fabric of bygone eras and the pulse of modern times, culminating in a visual tapestry that pays homage to the historical mosaic that is Singapore. In celebrating Katong Joo Chiat’s remarkable legacy, we joyfully revel in the dynamism and vibrancy that define this unique community.
Central to this display are the captivating photographs deftly captured by the talented students of St. Joseph’s Institution. These images are not mere snapshots; they are portals that transport us through time, allowing us to experience the essence and dynamism of the Katong neighborhood.
