Casting Seminars with Koo Chia Meng

Join Creative Director and Co-Founder of Fiction Shore, Koo Chia Meng in introductory seminars in these two introductory seminars on casting! With separate sessions catering to actors looking to explore screen performance for narrative projects, or filmmakers looking to enhance screen performance work for narrative projects, learn how to create meaningful screen performances on set.

Actors’ Casting Seminar | Sat 28 Oct 2023, 1pm – 4pm

Actor’s Casting Seminar is a single-session workshop for upcoming actors looking to explore screen performance for narrative projects. The workshop will examine actor’s professional approach in working with filmmakers, in additional to screen performance discussions. This workshop will serve as an introduction to SCENES, a foundation workshop where actors and filmmakers experience an intense process of shooting and coursework critique, building confidence and facility to create meaningful screen performances together.

– Range and Control
– Preparation vs Improvisation
– The Actor and The Director

Approaching Auditions

– The Script Sides
– Understanding who ‘You’ are

Filmmakers’ Casting Seminar | Sat 25 Nov 2023, 1pm – 4pm

Filmmaker’s Casting Seminar is a single-session workshop for filmmakers looking to enhance screen performance work for narrative projects. The workshop will examine filmmakers’ professional approach in working with actors, in additional to screen performance discussions. This session is also relevant for casting directors, managers and agents. This workshop will serve as an introduction to SCENES, a foundation workshop where actors and filmmakers experience an intense process of shooting and coursework critique, building confidence and facility to create meaningful screen performances together.
