This textile-installation was fuelled by Mary Bernadette Lee’s ongoing interest in the cyclical nature of relationship patterns and habitual human behaviour. Through the repetition, intersections and divergence of abstracted lines and circular forms, Lee charts the ebb and flow of the relationships in our lives. Integral to the work is the use of organic dyeing techniques employed by collaborator Gwen Chan. The persimmon dyed fabrics will darken over time under sunlight, a transition that embodies impermanence and change.
