“Changing Perspectives, The New Thinking of Ang Ah Tee”, features 30 recent paintings by the 78 year old artist. These creations which accentuate the element of simplicity, reflect a prominent and important development in the artist’s customary style of of expression. These paintings of iconic landmarks such as Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, Angkor Wat Temple in Cambodia, Acropolis of Athens in Greece and the Lourve Museum in Paris convey Ang Ah Tee’s reconsideration of the places that he had visited and painted years ago.
“It was a constant struggle when deciding on the elements to remove or retain in these paintings. I have used limited colours in these compositions and depended heavily on brushstrokes to capture the compelling aspects of the subject. Simplicity is never easy, but I enjoyed the challenge.” – Ang Ah Tee
For his artistic excellence, contribution and commitment to the arts, Ang Ah Tee was conferred the Cultural Medallion Award in 2009.
